Program Approval and Accreditation

All dental assisting programs in Alberta must be Approved or Provisionally Approved by us, and be licensed/approved by the appropriate division of Alberta Advanced Education. The programs must meet certain criteria, on an ongoing basis, to maintain their approval status. Accreditation is an important part of our Program Approval process.

Accreditation is a non-governmental, peer-review process that measures education programs against national requirements. It is carried out by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).

Review our Program Approval Policies for details.
